Gnome Cartoons, Illustrations and Paintings
The Brother’s Grimm story of Little Snow White is a very well known fairy story and has been illustrated in many ways in its published form by several artists. When Walt Disney brought out his famous Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs animated film in 1937, after work by a team of animators, his version of the dwarfs gave each of them an appearance matching the cute characters he had created.
Jenny Nystrom (1854-1946) is an example of an artist who was best known for her Christmas artwork which is still popular in Sweden and other Scandinavian Countries. She painted illustrations for books, magazines, posters and advertisements as well as landscapes and portraits, but she was most famous for her tomte post cards and Christmas cards.
